Michael Brodeur, M.S.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Michael Brodeur was raised in Coventry, RI. He attended Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire where he obtained his undergraduate degree in psychology. Michael has spent the past five years working towards his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire.
While at Antioch University New England, Mike has provided therapy to clients at a community mental health setting and a college counseling center. Mike worked with both children and adult clients at Psychological Associates in Warwick, RI providing individual therapy,testing for ADHD and other disorders, and co-leading social skills groups. Mike also has experience in college counseling through the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Mike provided individual therapy and crisis intervention to students of all backgrounds.
Mike’s research interests stem from doing outreach to survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Mike’s dissertation will focus on how disaster volunteers become resilient after working in disaster settings. Mike’s clinical interests include using a positive psychology perspective to help people recognize their strengths and use them on a daily basis. Mike also has a strong interest in cognitive-behavioral therapy which is very effective with anxiety and depression. Outside of work, Mike is a huge classic rock fan and has been trying to switch from playing air guitar to actual guitar the past year. Mike also enjoys watching the Red Sox and Patriots as well as spending time with friends and family.
