Elizabeth Harwood, M.A.
Pre-Doctoral Intern
Lizzie grew up in Mississippi and has lived in Vermont, Massachusetts and Montana. She received her bachelor's degree in Literary Studies from Middlebury College in Vermont and she has spent the past five years working towards her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The University of Montana. She is very excited to return to New England, not only because she has family and friends in the area, but also because she is back in Red Sox Nation. Go Sox!
While at The University of Montana, Lizzie worked at an inpatient state hospital, a community outpatient clinic, and a university counseling center. She also taught several undergraduate courses and spent her spare time exploring the great outdoors of Big Sky Country with her family. Lizzie especially enjoyed working with the college population and she is delighted to be at UNH's counseling center. Lizzie's clinical work is strongly influenced by an integration of cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapies, although she often draws on other perspectives depending on the unique needs of the client. Additionally, Lizzie believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential component for any therapy. Her special interests include depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns.
