Stephanie Higgs
Office Manager

Stephanie is celebrating her 6th year working at the UNH Counseling Center. Prior to working at UNH, she spent 16+ years in Corporate America, primarily in HR management roles. Interested in contributing to UNH beyond her job, she has served on the Judicial Board, the Student Affairs Tech Team, the Staff Development Grant Committee, the Compassionate Leave policy development committee, and the Operating Staff Council. In 2004 and 2005 she served as Chair of the OS Council and enjoyed the opportunity to get exposure to and participate in the big picture decisions being made. She served on the !DEA Review Committee (an employee suggestion program), the Performance Management Task Force which worked to redesign the current UNH performance evaluation process and forms, and the USNH intercampus Systems Personnel Policies Council. She is a recipient of the 2005 Presidential Award of Excellence.

Her position as Office Manager for the Counseling Center is one of many hats- statistics/reporting, web maintenance, administrative supervisor, and a plethora of other responsibilities that ensure the smooth running of the office.

She received her BS in Business Administration from UNH and a graduate certificate in Human Resources from NH College. Her background includes stints in computer programming, internal auditing, insurance claims operations and, primarily, human resources. She is currently working toward a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at UNH. Steph gets the rest of her life education through reading voraciously and being intrigued by human nature.

She has lived in the Seacoast area for many years and loves all that it has to offer. She enjoys outdoor activities including gardening, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing and loves taking trips to beautiful places on the motorcycle.
