Staff Psychologist
Hadassah "Dassie" Ramsay is thrilled to return to the UNH Counseling Center as a Staff Psychologist. Dassie is a licensed psychologist who was awarded her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology of Argosy University- Washington, DC (ASPP/DC). Dassie's clinical training has almost exclusively been done within university counseling centers; she worked two years at the American University Counseling Center and she completed her internship and post-doctoral training right here at the UNH Counseling Center.
As a psychologist in training, Dassie was privileged to work with UNH students as well as with the larger UNH community. In part, it is because of her experience here that confirmed Dassie's passion for working with the college student population. In her work with students, Dassie strives to help them better understand and negotiate the various personal landscapes they wish to explore in counseling. She is an ally to members of traditionally underrepresented communities on our campus. Through her outreach efforts and individual therapy relationships, Dassie works to advance social justice and equity for groups and individuals with regard to sexual orientation, race, gender, ability, and other social identity groups. Dassie works from an integrative approach that draws more specifically from the Psychodynamic, Relational, and Cognitive Behavioral theoretical orientations. She believes that the college years (both undergraduate and graduate) are full of important and exciting self-discoveries and she enjoys empowering students as they navigate their way through them successfully.
Dassie was raised in Los Angeles and attended college at Arizona State University where she graduated with honors and a BA in Women's Studies. Despite having grown up among palm trees and the warmth of the West Coast, she is enjoying what living in the Seacoast region of New England has to offer, from lazy summer afternoons with her family at Mendum's Pond to quiet evening jogs, Dassie is thrilled to be a part of the larger UNH community!
