Chia-Chen Tu, M.A.
Pre-Doctoral Intern
Chia-Chen Tu grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Chinese Literature from Chengchi University. Before she moved to Minnesota for graduate school, Chia-Chen had taught Chinese Literature at a middle school in Taiwan. She is a doctoral candidate in counseling psychology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities where she received her master’s degree. Chia-Chen has worked with diverse student populations at college counseling centers in the Twin Cities. She has taught an undergraduate course that assisted students in developing effective academic skills and managing test anxiety and procrastination. She also provided crisis intervention and short-term counseling at the Walk-In Counseling Center. Chia-Chen enjoys working with both undergraduate and graduate students and looks forward to joining the UNH Counseling Center. Chia-Chen has special interests in trauma and resiliency, cultural adjustment, and issues associated with a counselor’s professional development. In addition to her work as a counselor, Chia-Chen enjoys attending art fairs, international film festivals, traveling, and cooking Taiwanese food.
