Tunde Turi-Markovic, M.A.
Pre-Doctoral Intern

Tunde is a Hungarian female who was born and raised in Romania, Europe, and immigrated to the United States when she was twelve years old.    Interestingly, Tunde has always known that she wanted to work as a counselor, although as a young child she did not have the proper language to describe her passion.   She received her bachelor degree in psychology from Bridgewater State College and her masters in psychology from Boston College.   She is now a fourth year doctoral candidate at Northeastern University where she is working on her dissertation.   She has had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings and with all age groups but has especially enjoyed working with college students.

Theoretically, Tunde identifies with an ecological perspective.   She is very attracted to this model because it takes a multi level perspective by including influences of the social context and the environment of the individual; as well as acknowledging structural forces operating on individuals and organizations.   As a counselor she strongly believes in the importance of incorporating multiple modalities in practice and being able to choose the conceptual strategies and intervention approaches that are best suited to clients' needs.   She considers it a privilege to hear about the lives of others while having the opportunity to help strengthen, empower and advocate for individuals.   Tunde enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, taking walks, going to the beach and reading.
